Last March, Alaskans joined together to take action and end Alaska’s epidemic of domestic violence and sexual assault. Eighteen communities joined together for “Choose Respect” rallies and marches with a message of hope and healing for the many who have suffered from these crimes. The work begun in 2010 has given more Alaskans the courage to speak and the strength to act. On March 31st, Alaska is once again launching statewide “Choose Respect” events – and the Governor issued a challenge for 40 communities to join the cause and stand together in 2011. Together, Alaskans will take back some ground for safer Alaska homes and stronger families.
