Conducting an initial sexual assault legal intake interview requires a specialized skill set. This free, online course will help you further develop the skills you need to conduct a sexual assault legal intake, demonstrating best practices and inviting you to develop strategies for effectively working with survivors to identify and address their civil legal needs. The course consists of a self-paced web-based training, a series of independent homework activities, and an interactive webinar led by VRLC Staff Attorney Laura Mahr. The course is available for OVW grantees, sub-grantees, and their grant partners,* and will begin Wednesday, June 5th, 2013. To pass the course, you must attend the June 20th webinar (10–11:30 a.m. Pacific).
