2 Free Regional Trainings

Just Detention International and the PREA Resrouce Center are holding two FREE full-day trainings in Columbia, SC. The first training, on April 23, will focus on creating a trauma-informed victim services program, as required by the PREA standards.The second training, in April 24, will provide corrections staff with the skills to develop inmate education programs that comply with the PREA standards. Both trainings will be held at the same site in Columbia, SC.  Because the sessions complement each other, it is encouraged that you attend both.  Each will feature interactive exercies, expert panels, sexual abuse survivor testimonies, and group discussions that cater to individuals working in a range of detention settings.  Speakers will include leaders in the fields of law enforcement, corrections, advocacy, and mental health, as well as a survivor of sexual abuse in detention.For more information or to register, visit http://www.justdetention.org/en/south-carolina-regional-training-application.aspx
