When a child is sexually assaulted by a family member, a number of challenging dynamics come into play.  Anti-sexual violence advocates and allied professionals can play a vital role in responding to child survivors and their families by responding to their unique needs and nurturing resiliency.Join us as Alexa Livelsberger, Children’s Advocacy Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, and Alissa Mailen Perrotto, Online Resource Specialist for the National Sexual Violence Resource center and former children’s advocate, share their perspectives on how advocates and allied professionals can best meet the needs of children surviving incest.By the conclusion of this presentation participants will be better able to:• Identify the dynamics of incest and its impact on children and families• Support children and families through the difficult process and aftermath of disclosure• Aid in the healing process through recognizing and fostering characteristics of resilience
