Survivors of sexual violence often have immediate and ongoing healthcare needs after an assault. This can play a central role in a survivors' healing and recovery from the violence they have experienced. We know that youth are at risk to experience sexual violence, and that they too will need access to these supportive healthcare services. This webinar will explore sexual assault advocacy and healthcare access for youth ages 13-18. At what age can a teen consent to healthcare services? Is that information confidential? What is the advocate's role? these are the questions and concerns we will dig into!This webinar is for sexual assault advocates who are interested in: learning more about teen consent and confidentiality in the healthcare setting; gaining new tools and resources for working with medical providers; and discussing ways to enhance support services to teen survivors.
