A webinar co-sponsored by APHA will take place on Wenesday, Jan. 18, 11:30am to 1pm PST. Although the Prevention and Public Health Fund survived the end-of-th-year budget negotiations, the threat to the fund continues to be very real. Representatives and senators return to Washington, D.C., in mid-January to negotiate longer-term extensions to the payroll tax reduction, federal unemployment benefits, and to maintain Medicare reimbursement for physicians - and the prevention fund will likely be used as a bartering chip. APHA, PolicyLink, Prevention Institute, Public Health Institute and Trust for America's Health invite you to join in a discussion to review strategies to educate elected officials about the value of prevention and public health-related programs and to identify action steps you can take to help protect funding for public health in 2012.
