Last week, I mentioned social networking (via Facebook) briefly. A lot of nonprofits have embraced social media as a tool for community education/awareness, staff development and more. TechSoup and NTEN have an archived webinar on the topic: Storytelling and Social Media: Building Blocks. You can watch and listen to the presentation; download the Powerpoint slides (both in the right hand column); and follow links to some great resources and examples of using social media to benefit your program.
Even if you don't watch the webinar, I recommend checking out the whole TechSoup site. Particularly if you are interested in exploring technology solutions for your program. You can find great information, some of which is written for the most technophobic out there. I recommend starting in their Community section, host to a variety of forums on a huge range of topics.
