Online Conferencing & Seminar Tools
Idealware is hosting a webinar June 4th from 1-2:30 EST on getting started with online conferencing and seminar tools. Registration is $40, but it looks like they'll cover a lot of ground for the money:
"We'll talk about the features that can help you conduct meetings or training over the Web - for instance, desktop sharing, slide shows, chat functionality, polls, voice conferencing, and more - and then look at some of the free and affordable options, such as Glance, DimDim, Yugma, GoToMeeting, ReadyTalk, and Adobe Connect. We'll close with some tips and tricks about conducting training via the web."
For those of you who are interested in being able to conduct more online training, this might be a good use of resources. There's great potential for collaboration among programs to host online education or peer review sessions (or really any other type of gathering that will help maintain competency and increase clinical knowledge). It might also be a fantastic opportunity for state IAFN chapters to conduct meetings and provide continuing ed.
BTW, if any of you will be in Anaheim next week for the EVAW conference, be sure to join Diana Faugno, Mike Weaver and me Tuesday evening from 5-6pm for a conversation about running quality SANE programs regardless of budget. We'll talk online education and a host of other topics. Hope to see you there!
