Something very exciting is happening this week in Chicago! The National Sexual Assault Conference (NSAC) brings together professionals across disciplines for an intentional time of training, networking and development.
Last week it was exciting to be able to announce the theme for SAAM 2013. Yes, we are still talking about healthy sexuality but the upcoming campaign will be looking at child sexual abuse prevention specifically too.
In my last post, after taking a moment to fill you in on some behind the scenes planning for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) 2013, I hinted at sharing some campaign details soon.
Let me paint a picture for you. You are sitting between family and friends, center of the aisle, that preferable distance from the stage. You are back far enough to take everything in but still see the closer details of the show. The curtain’s drawn, but the scene is set.
This morning a two-hour drive from Philadelphia to Harrisburg had me listening to an unusually full set of morning news programming. As world, business, and local news updates cycled and my morning coffee settled in, two stories in particular caught my attention.
The interwebs are just crawling with information about sex. Well, let me rephrase that to there is plenty of sex on the internet. Suffice it to say quantity is no indicator of quality when it comes to the topic of sex and the internet, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t people talking about it in helpful, healthy ways.
